The
reigning Miss Birmingham will be a special guest at Birmingham International
Fashion Week this weekend, as she hands out an award to a budding young
model.
Kris’ina Jagpal, who won the chance to represent her
home city of Birmingham last year, will present a special prize for the The Face
of Birmingham International Fashion Week 2013.
Birmingham International Fashion Week (BIFW) is
teaming up with Inter Lens Model Management to help find people with the
potential for a career in modelling, with the winner being named on Sunday
afternoon and rewarded with a professional photoshoot and the offer of a
contract with the agency.
Kris’ina Jagpal, who was crowned Miss Birmingham
last March, certainly knows her stuff when it comes to style and is due to
graduate from her fashion course at Birmingham City University this year. She
has also graced magazine covers, starred in music videos and attended numerous
glamorous events since winning the Miss Birmingham title.
She
is also now helping to find her successor, with applications for Miss Birmingham
2013 now open. The search for Miss Birmingham is much more than an old-fashioned
beauty pageant or modelling competition, judges will be looking for someone who
can be an ambassador for the city and help to raise the profile of many worthy
causes across the West Midlands throughout the year.
The
competition is open to 17 to 24-year-olds who live, work or study in Birmingham
or the surrounding area, but younger fashion fans can also get involved in the
Junior Miss Birmingham contest, open to 13 to 16-year-olds. If you or anyone you
know would like to enter, visit www.missbirmingham.co.uk
before March 29.
